Women's Underwear makes Great Christmas Stocking Fillers

Sometimes it's not so easy finding inexpensive but exciting stocking fillers for the love of your life. Women's underwear always comes in useful and you as the loving partner can make it as exciting or as mundane as you choose. If the budget is a bit tight this year due to the current economic climate and you have to watch the budget, then a practical gift of women's underwear makes a useful yet sexy present.

Today there is a large variety of women's underwear in most Target or Big W stores in Australia or if you live in the US or Canada, Walmart is a magic place to browse. Just be sure that you have her right size imprinted on your mind and that you allow plenty of time to choose. Even in these less expensive stores, stockings, bras and panties still cost money and you don't want to waste any by buying the wrong size.

The best way to find out what size your Lady wears is simply to casually ask her. If that doesn't get you the answer, then check the washing on the line or in the dryer. If that fails, then you may need to do a panty raid and check in her lingerie drawer to get the right size. While checking for size, take note also of the styles she seems to have the most of because these are her preferences.

Does she prefer a thong or a high leg? Check to see if she mostly wears bikini style or does she prefer the full brief? Everyday wear many women prefer to wear a full brief or a high cut pant leg because they seem to be the more comfortable cut and the fabric is stretchable for sitting down, getting up or running around.

Whichever style you choose, just be sure to only get a pair of panties that has a cotton gusset. This cotton gusset is essential for feminine hygiene. Also, make sure that the package hasn't been opened and it is still all intact just to be on the safe-side.

If you are buying her some everyday panties as Christmas stocking fillers then a good buy can be found in the multi-packs. These multi-packs of women's briefs come in an assortment of colours and once you know whether you need the full brief, high cuts or bikinis, they seem to be the better buy. And the Bikinis aren't all that un-sexy but they are eminently practical.

If you decide that you can splurge a bit, why not get both some everyday underwear and a pair of really special knickers with matching bra for just those special occasions when the panties don't usually stay on very long anyway? This then becomes a multi-functional gift that lasts for many special times through the year.

Women's Underwear as a Christmas stocking filler can be practical and yet a nice gift to receive.

Women's Stockings and Hot Humid Days Don't go Together

There's absolutely no doubt about it but it is cruel to want women to wear nylon stockings in the summer. Here in Queensland Australia the days are hot around 30 degrees Celsius every day which is nice but you really have to dress accordingly or you could die from heat exhaustion. No joke!
Nylon is a man made material from the petrochemical industry and nylon doesn't 'breathe'. It tends to cling very tightly to a woman's legs and the crutch even with a cotton gusset becomes over-heated so yeast infections are rampant due the hot and humid summer days. This is a very uncomfortable condition for women. But luckily most Queensland women have adapted a very common sense approach to dealing with this problem. Read How Here

Women's Nylon Stockings for Christmas

If you are an anxious lover and you have started thinking about what to get your 'significant other' this Christmas then you won't go far wrong with a pair of special stockings. These special stockings can be whatever suits you best; fishnet, sheer, patterned, silky thigh highs or whatever you choose. But I do strongly recommend you check out her proper size.

How to do this without her knowing? Good question and you may need to use some "Dick Tracey" (pun intended) tactics here. It's amazing really how women know when someone has been into their lingerie drawer so you will have to be very discreet. Before you touch anything in her drawer after opening it, take a good look at how everything is set out. Most women know to within an inch where a certain pair of stockings lives and if you don't put them back exactly right you will get a question or comment about "someone's been into my drawer!" and we don't want that, now do we?

Just be sure to put everything back exactly as you found it after checking what sizes and brands are on the spare stocking package labels. Most stockings don't have sizes on the stockings themselves so you will need to read the new packages. If there are no new packages of stockings in there then you will need to invent an excuse to get her downtown and into a mall without raising her suspicions.

Once you are in the shopping centre or mall together, see if you can entice her into a lingerie shop or super department store and past the lingerie section. I'm sure while you are in there and looking around, see if you can discretely get her sizing from her while you pretend (or honestly) admire something and say that you think that would look nice on her. Women love these types of comments!

That way you may also get her dress sizing and this will be a big help to most shop assistants working in a lingerie shop because they will then know what her stocking size is most likely to be with a 96% accuracy. Depending on the style of stocking you end up buying this close a fit will be pretty well comfortable for her to wear.

Now that we have the stocking sizeing sorted out why stick at buying only one pair? Why not buy her a pair for a few occasions and when she wears them she will be able to remember when she wore certain others. Memories are precious and better when shared.

A Useful tip for laddered stockings

Have you ever wondered what to do with those old stockings once they are laddered and unwearable again? Well, it may surprise you to learn there are any number of uses that old women's stockings can be put to.

If you have anything to be polished amd shined within an inch of it's lacquer, then all you need to do is to cut off one leg of a pair of pantyhose, put the item inside the cut off stocking leg and roll it back and forth, up and down in the stocking leg. If it is slightly rounded it does roll better and it's obviously better if there are no sharp edges to catch on the find stocking material.

If you have a lawn bowler in the house then this is an excellent way to shine and polish those heavy bowls to get a winners shine!

Women's Stockings and Hot Humid Days Don't go Together

There's absolutely no doubt about it but it is cruel to want women to wear nylon stockings in the summer. Here in Queensland Australia the days are hot around 30degrees Celsius every day which is nice but you really have to dress accordingly or you could die from heat exhaustion.

Unless you absolutely, positively, "can't-get-out-of-it-except-by-dying" have to wear stockings during the day time, you simply make sure you have a nice pedicure for your toe-nails and an attractive loosely fitting dressy outfit and go off to work. Coolness and comfort are the requirements of living well in a tropical environment.

However, if you are an office worker sitting at a desk all day in air-conditioning you need to always make sure you have a cardigan handy in case you start to get too cool because someone coming in from outside has turned the thermostat on the air-conditioning down too low.

In an office environment this is quite a common happening and if you are too scantily clad you can get ill. As strange as it may sound to anyone who has never lived in the tropics, I have caught pneumonia from just such a scenario. I once used to do a lot of field and lab work with wild animals and I had to come into the library for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea if I was working around the laboratory. My clothes would be wringing wet and sitting in a super cool environment that the books needed to discourage the growth of mould, I became quite ill. So, just to be on the safe side just make sure you have a cardigan or jumper handy to put on.

If you live in the tropics you really don't need to wear stockings unless you go out somewhere special at night.

Women Wearing Stockings Today

Stockings are one of those items of clothing that is slowly fading into the dim past. Today many office workers don't bother to 'dress up' to go to work like they did 30 years ago. Today in most office environments you see men and women in jeans and tee-shirts or most women will wear a blouse but the days seem to have passed when the majority of women wore stockings, girdles, skirts and blouses or a dress.

Is this a by-product of the women's movement? Perhaps a bit but I also think it is largely because of the economic times we live in today.

A pair of nice stockings is expensive and most women today only 'dress up' for special occasions. Personally, I think us women have short-changed ourselves in this way and I feel that many men think so too.

Once upon a time when a man was the bread winner in a household he used to enjoy seeing his wife all dressed up and used to feel proud that he was able to provide her with nice clothes; and he was the lucky bloke who was married to her. I know, that is very old fashioned thinking but I'm lucky enough to be one of those women who remembers.

On the upside the stockings of today are considerably more comfortable and durable than they were in times gone by. Today's stockings have had a technology revolution, probably about the same time as the women's movement gained momentum. Today an average pair of stockings can be purchased with the groceries but a non-standard pair of stockings is also more expensive but more readily available to those who have the disposable income to buy them.

So all women who want to wear stockings today need to educate our menfolk to take us to the nearest lingerie shop and buy us a pair of nice stockings for those special types of occasions. Alternatively, we could invite them to measure our legs and buy us a pair off the Internet?

Nylon Stocking Toes

Have you ever thought about why most 'average cost' women's stockings have that double thickness around the toe section of the foot?

Yes, it does add comfort to toes particularly if the shoes are a bit too tight but there is a more important reason. And that's because many women do not give themselves a pedicure often enough to keep their toenails trimmed and cared for!

On the other side of the coin (or foot) I have seen some women's toenails that a falcon or hawk would carry with pride. Talk about either end of the scales. But basically, that double layer of fabric around the toes is to stop toenails from making a hole in your stockings.

Once a hole has formed at the toes of a pair of stockings you virtually have at most one more wearing before having to throw them out. You can only get that wearing out of them though if you are prepared to put up with a bit of discomfort because your toes get tangled in the hole and it hurts.

Not much ruins a pair of stockings faster than unkempt toenails. They either snag the stocking when putting them on or the toenail cuts through the fine fabric like a knife. Apart from the discomfort of the long toenails in shoes, even open toed sandals, long toenails become very painful when worn enclosed in shoes all day.

Have you also noticed the other thing about that double fabric around the toes? Sometimes if you buy a cheap pair of stockings the manufacturer has put a seam in there and after a day's wearing, this seam has cut into toes quite fiercely and one gets very footsore by the end of the day particularly if you have had to be on your feet all day.

I believe we should punish such cruel manufacturers by (a) not buying any more of their cheap and nasty product and (b) we should make him/her wear a pair of their own stockings all day.

I'm sure you've heard the story about "walking a mile in the other person's shoes…"

Nylon Stockings and Summer heat

Summer is fast approaching here in Queensland Australia and the heat during the day is increasing. I was in Brisbane this week and I noticed many of the younger office girls are no longer wearing jeans but they have started wearing skirts and blouses and stockings. So the morning must be a bit chilly still becuase as soon as the days start to get really hot, those stockings will no longer be necessary to wear except when dressing up to go out again at night.

This is both good and bad because wearing stockings does make a woman feel kinda special.....

Oh well....there's literally no point in sweating over it....and stockings can become very sticky and clingy and awfully uncomfortable on a really hot day!

Nylon Stockings and Static Electricity

Have you ever noticed an increase in static electricity when you wear nylon stockings on a windy day?

Static electricity and nylon stockings can shock you when you get out of a car, when you touch a tap or anything metal. Even the kitchen sink can give you a shock. These shocks can make you jump!

The weather doesn't even have to be windy sometimes because some people have dry skin and the constant contact with the nylon builds up electricty in your body that you feel whenever you touch anything metalic.

The cure for this is hand lotion or body lotion rubbed over your body before putting on your nylon stockings.

Even though the material in nylon stockings is actually spandex, it originates from nylon. We still call them "nylons" because that is what we were introduced to them as being called.

Static electricity caused by rubbing friction with the nylon though is no joke. It actually hurts a bit. Apart from that, when you get out of a car and touch the metal door handle the sudden shock brings you down to earth immediately.

If you have never had this problem you will not be aware of how uncomfortable it actually is but if you have had the problem, invest in a good moisturising lotion and use it liberally. It really does help.

Ten Tips n Tricks for Wearing Nylon Stockings in Summer

Wearing Nylon stockings can be very uncomfortable in the hot Australian summer unless you follow a few pretty simple guidelines.

1. Never try putting nylon stockings on immediately after getting out of a shower

2. Never rush to dress as you tend to perspire when hurrying and this makes legs damp.

3. Severely limit the use of a talcum powder because this will cause skin rashes in heat wave conditions.

4. Some women I know put their pantyhose stockings into a freezer bag and put it into the freezer just before they have a shower. I personally haven’t tried this method but they swear by it.

5. Always, always gently wash nylon stockings/pantyhose after each wear.

6. If you don’t wash them by hand in a gentle detergent then always use a laundry bag. These can be cheaply bought from most supermarkets and they stop your hosiery from being mangled.

7. Always fold pantyhose stockings gently and store them in a separate clothe bag in your drawers or cupboard. Preferably with a sachet of lavender inside as this keeps everything smelling nice and is a vermin deterrent.

9. If your stockings have a snag or pulled thread, never cut it off or pull it. Instead use a gentle dab of clear fingernail polish or undercoat to seal it before it makes a hole or ladders your stockings

10. When you buy your nylon stockings or pantyhose always buy the right size for your figure. If you are lucky enough to have long legs then be sure to show them off effectively without hobbling yourself.
